{"id":9711,"date":"2024-03-21T10:09:40","date_gmt":"2024-03-21T10:09:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/airspaceworld.com\/?post_type=news&#038;p=9711"},"modified":"2025-02-13T14:19:36","modified_gmt":"2025-02-13T14:19:36","slug":"leeds-bradford-airport-to-deploy-altitude-angels-approval-services-platform-2","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/airspaceworld.com\/blog\/news\/leeds-bradford-airport-to-deploy-altitude-angels-approval-services-platform-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Leeds Bradford Airport to deploy Altitude Angel\u2019s Approval Services Platform"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/airspaceworld.com\/app\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Leeds-bradford-airport_press-image-2-1-1024x690.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9709\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>London, UK &amp; Geneva, Switzerland:&nbsp; <\/strong>On the third day of the Airspace World expo taking place in Geneva, Switzerland,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.altitudeangel.com\/\">Altitude Angel<\/a>, the world\u2019s most trusted UTM (Unified Traffic Management) technology provider, has announced Leeds Bradford Airport is to deploy its Approval Services platform which allows drone operators, and in the future eVTOL pilots, the ability to request and pay for operations within the airport\u2019s airspace digitally and at the touch of a button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Altitude Angel\u2019s Approval Services platform, described on its launch by [then] Aviation Minister Baroness Vere, as \u2018a key step to [the UK] achieving its ambitious outcomes we are setting through the Future of Flight Industry Group\u2019, allows drone operators to submit flight plans, which take place in part wholly or in part, within an airport\u2019s FRZ, quickly and securely, as well as facilitating any charges the airport have in place when a flight is approved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the deployment of Altitude Angel\u2019s Approval Services platform at Leeds Bradford Airport, Jamie Babbin, Leeds Bradford Airport Operations Manager, said: \u201cSurrounded by a number of towns, villages and industrial estates, the airport has been dealing with an increasing number of requests to fly within the FRZ from both commercial and recreational drone operators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Approval Services platform allows us to receive all required information from the drone operator in an easy-to-use format, enabling us to quickly assess and decide whether we can allow the flight, or need to request an amendment to the flight plan before approving it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chris Forster, Altitude Angel, Chief Operating Officer, added: \u201cAs a forward-thinking airport, Leeds Bradford Airport is laying the digital foundation stones for future airspace users.
