Setting the scene for innovative air mobility services: The role of social acceptance and visual pollution<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

By developing virtual reality environments \u2013 both urban and rural \u2013 it is possible to assess not only the levels of social acceptance but also the levels of visual pollution caused by advanced air mobility (AAM). Thus, engaging citizens through immersive experiences such as virtual reality allows the collection of data on visual pollution and overall AAM acceptance. This investigation provides an assessment not only of the levels of social acceptance, a preponderant factor in the implementation of AAM, but also of the effect that the virtual reality experience has on social acceptance, along with the visual pollution impact measurements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The UK Airspace Modernization Strategy is an ambitious programme to modernise, improve and optimise airspace operations. GE Aerospace and project partner NATS, together with Ryanair and Stansted Airport, are working on an exciting R&D concept project to exploit the aircraft extended arrivals process at capacity-constrained airports, through enhanced trajectory prediction. This feeds into broad industry-wide objectives for reducing emissions, noise and delay. In addition, it maps to objectives defined in the UK PCP (SI 2022\/211) and EU CP1 regulations. Hear the project\u2019s findings so far and get a glimpse into how sharing critical real time data might lead to one of the industry\u2019s most transformational efficiency developments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
